Under the direction of Frank Connelly, their first manager, they took a few time on Boston's clubs circuit. The group then began working with Steve Leber (New York) and David Krebs (New York). In 1972, they signed a record agreement and debuted their first album. The album was immediately followed by Get Your Wings, Toys in the Attic, Rocks and Draw the Line, which helped propel Aerosmith to fame internationally and recognition. These albums produced famous hits like "Dream on", "Walk This Way", and "Sweet Emotion". Aerosmith's first five albums have also been multi-platinum and Toys in the Attic and Rocks are widely regarded as one of the greatest hard rock albums of all time. The decade passed however, the band's hectic lifestyle of playing, recording and staying together started to wear the band down. Tyler and Perry were frequently referred to as the Toxic Twins, for their notorious consumption of stimulants and heroin. Their relationship is documented in many of Aerosmith's video recordings as well as in Aerosmith Behind the Music. Tyler seemed to be more committed to the group, seemed to resent Perry's passive attitude and envied Perry's priority for women in his life. Aerosmith was declining in the 1980s due to tensions between Perry and Tyler.
